Webmaster's comment Some schools in Cagayan de Oro and vicinities are dangerously loud when conducting athletics and recreational activities. The webmaster is a witness to the use of five huge boom boxes in a children's school, generating an estimated 100 decibels continuously for four hours each of three days. Other areas that could be a source of noise-induced deafness are malls and markets, where stores near one another play loud music simultaneously. Noise pollution in the Philippines is not a big issue.

Hospitals

CT Scan

2003: Three government and eight private hospitals operate.Hospitals Number of beds -- 660 government and 700 private -- is greater than national standard, suggesting availability of tertiary health care services in municipalities. Number of health workers also appear adequate. One private hospital has CT SCAN and most hospitals and clinics have advanced equipment. Also available:

  • Barangay health centers: 49
  • Family planning clinics: 66
  • General and dental clinics: 200

2010: Capitol University Medical City has an equipment that detects dengue from zero to five days of viral infection.

The government Northern Mindanao Regional Hospital, however, is an excellent endorser of breastfeeding. It has a milk bank, and the staff will confiscate milk bottles from indigent patients who disobey its policy.
